Housed in an old tobacco warehouse dating back to the Antebellum South, 2113 unites the city’s cosmopolitan energy with the proud cultural traditions of the region. This unassuming yet essential motto not only summarizes 2113’s operating philosophy, but it effectively encapsulates the region’s ability to embrace cosmopolitan ideals without a hint of pretentiousness. 2113 evokes components from various sectors of the community ranging from architectural features and interior design elements to menu and musical selections. 2113 has captured the dynamic essence of Richmond and become a microcosm of the city itself.

our history

2113 was created and built from scratch by a former New York police officer & nightclub owner and a former Washington, DC attorney & international history teacher. Both individuals have fallen in love with Richmond and have made this city their home. Soon after opening 2113’s doors for business, the duo partnered with a seasoned professional who brought over 30 years of corporate managerial experience with Dominion Resources, Inc. to the table.

As small business owners, the trio has created a unique space to serve as an artistic, business, culinary and social hub for the city. Through 2113 and their involvement in the greater Richmond community, the trio are working to slowly transform Main Street into “Main Street” once again. Their mission is to redefine what it means to go out and have fun in Richmond by developing a successful bistro-lounge concept in the heart of Tobacco Row.

Chef Mark Bauer heads the 2113 Bistro Culinary Team. Raised in a family full of skilled culinarians and restaurant managers, Chef Mark has a natural passion for food and an innate talent for the culinary arts. Hailing from Richmond, Chef Mark has strong ties to the central Virginia area and a deep connection to the region’s vibrant foodie community. Chef Mark’s New American cuisine unites local favorites with exciting new flavors. Thanks to the talent of our entire Culinary Team, 2113 Bistro’s fare not only reflects our “Simple Sophistication”™ motto, it embodies the innovative and traditional energies that define the City of Richmond.
